The Bayou King Cake Festival is brought to you by the Lafourche Education Foundation (LEF). Since 1997, it has been the goal of the Lafourche Education Foundation to raise funds to provide students in Lafourche Parish with the necessary tools to be successful inside and outside the classroom and provide teachers with the resources to do just that. Investing in the public education of our students is an investment in our community because they will be our future leaders and innovators in education, medicine, business, and industry. After the COVID-19 pandemic came to a close, we tried to think of a way to bring together the community again with good food and a party with a purpose. Thus, the Bayou King Cake Festival was born! With our first festival in 2023, we were able to bring the community together for a day of fun, dancing, music, food, and of course—KING CAKE! Happening during the peak of Mardi Gras season, we let the good times roll.  Because the event was a big success in the inaugural year, we had to expand! Our goal is to keep expanding and gaining more people and participants to benefit the students. All proceeds from the festival are dedicated to getting our teachers and students what they need to succeed.
